Tribute to Lemmy: Ace Of Spades – Motorhead cover

Rock icon and Motörhead frontman Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister died from cancer on Monday Dec. 28 he was 70 years old and still going. The founder of Motörhead in 1975. A man who changed the definition of rock. This is a ”heavy metal piano” alternative rock version of the song Ace of Spades.

I’m ending this year with an ‘Ace Of Spades’ piano cover! 2015 closed with a loss of another rock legend! “If you didn’t do anything that wasn’t good for you it would be a very dull life. What are you gonna do? Everything that is pleasant in life is dangerous.”

– Lemmy “Ace Of Spades” – Lyrics

If you like to gamble, I tell you I’m your man,

You win some, lose some, all the same to me,

The pleasure is to play, makes no difference what you say,

I don’t share your greed, the only card I need is

The Ace Of Spades

Playing for the high one, dancing with the devil,

Going with the flow, it’s all the game to me,

Seven or Eleven, snake eyes watching you,

Double up or quit, double stake or split,

The Ace Of Spades You know I’m born to lose, and gambling’s for fools,

But that’s the way I like it baby, I don’t wanna live for ever,

And don’t forget the joker!

Pushing up the ante, I know you wanna see me,

Read ’em and weep, the dead man’s hand again,

I see it in your eyes, take one look and die,

The only thing you see, you know it’s gonna be,

The Ace Of Spades

What does ”Pink Elephant In The Room” mean? E-Mute Pink Elephant video:

What does ”A Pink Elephant In The Room” mean?

It means confusion. It means that there’s a problem that everyone is aware of but no one wants to admit. Afterall, this is song no. 2 of the EP ‘I Can Pay For It” – A Collection of Songs ForThe Current Political and Socio-Economic Crisis. An EP dedicated to understanding the reality of a world that needs to change and as even Quantum physicists admit; consciousness creates reality. What is consciousness? Consciousness includes a few things. It’s how we understand our Universe, our world, our thoughts, our perceptions, our objectives and more.
“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” – Albert Einstein

This is an alternative rock song about our mad little world. A song with lyrics full of oxymorons and antitheses; a musical reflection of the world we’re living in.

Pink Elephant Lyrics:
Verse 1:
Friends enemies others and relatives

Parents families babies and celebrities

Winners losers believers and confusers

Drinkers thinkers introverts and extroverts

Positive negative empathy and sympathy

Strength and weakness happiness and misery

Makes sense nonsense birth life death and health

Hugs and kisses tears panic push away
Chorus:
There is a pink elephant, pink elephant,
There is a pink elephant, pink elephant
In the room.
Verse 2:
Guns n’ roses, politics, hypocrisy

Dying and living how can we survive this game,

drunk or sober what the hell I’m doing here

atheists scientists, priests, beliebers Justin Biebers

Presidents, parliaments anarchists and terrorists

fearing, risking winning bets or losing games

Makes sense nonsense birth life death and health

Hugs and kisses tears panic push away
Chorus:
There is a pink elephant, pink elephant,
There is a pink elephant, pink elephant
In the room.

Vocal outro:

Come on let’s bring on the fun, bring on the fun
Come on let’s bring on the fun, bring on the fun
In the room

The video was made by DadaColor, a visual artist and musician from Germany. We met on Twitter and became friends. His interpretation of the ‘Pink Elephant’ lyrics led to the creation of this video. A crazy monkey, the elephants, the E = mc 2 equation. in DadaColor’s own words: “The crazy monkey tells a story about a pink elephant and no one believes him… Perhaps only monkeys can see them through their pink classes?” DadaColor makes all his videos with ”homemade” props. Everything you see is not computer made, the pink colours, painting the elephant, the elephant parade etc. Quite unique! You can find his YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrQeAb3rtOZfbXwJ42PbOLQ he is also a very good musician!
Intense, ironic and by turns darkly funny or genuinely though provoking, the EP was recorded over the course of one, very productive day in the studio.
Mixed by engineer is Andrea Adriano (Adele, Katy B), and mastered by Sigurdor Gudmundsson at Skonnrokk Studios. Sounds a bit like, Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Radiohead, Pixies, The Editors, etc!
