No. 20 on Soundcloud’s Explore Feature: Top Alternative Songs

I am so happy to announce that Praise Your Senses is on Soundcloud’s home page as a suggested new song to discover on their “Hear What’s Up And Coming – Explore” section under the tag Alternative Rock.
The track was only released on the 5th of December and it is currently holding at position no.20. Since it was featured there it has been receiving thousands of streams. Now this is what I call a proper Christmas!

”Explore” is a relatively new Soundcloud feature that works both on desktop and mobile devices, showcasing the best songs and audio that everyone else is listening to right now. So Praise Your Senses is on the list of the top alternative songs of 2014.

Should You Join Tsu? A Quick Introduction

There’s a new social network out and it’s called Tsu.

I have heard a few different opinions about it; people either think that it is brilliant or they consider it a scam.
Tsu is a social media site similar to all other major sites like Twitter and Facebook but one of its features makes Tsu very unique. It pays you royalties. The more you use it, the more royalties Tsu generates for you. It doesn’t matter if you are a public figure, a rock star, a dentist or a baker, it works for everyone.

tsu social media network
They are implementing the advertising concept of YouTube by placing ads around or before the content with the difference that the revenue is shared between Tsu and its users. Also, there’s something called “Family Tree”. The more people you invite to join Tsu the more royalties you collect by them sharing their content. So your account can grow exponentially. I know that a few people have been making about $100 per month already so it’s definitely worth a try.

This is what they say on their FAQ:

Tsu How does it work
Unlike Facebook, Twitter and all other networks the developers of Tsu decided to implement a much fairer method of monetising their website that benefits not only them but also the user. Me and you; it’s people that make a social network thriving in the first place.
I have read a few different posts about it and some bloggers do believe that it is impossible for a social network to maintain such a business model for too long. Tsu claims that from all profits generated they keep only a 10%. We will have to wait and see. Tsu is still in its infancy.
From my personal experience I find that the website definitely needs further development. Tsu at the moment does not look as good as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and all other networks but I am giving it some time to see where it’ll go.
What annoyed me when I first joined was that I suddenly had lots of people following me and sending me friend requests without knowing anything about me or my music, having the belief that the more people they follow and friend the more money they will be making on Tsu.
If you want to experiment a bit and try it for yourselves here is my invite code: http://tsu.co/emutemusic
Let me know how you’re getting on and what you think!

Thanks for reading!

Recording One Song in 5 Different Music Studios

I will be announcing soon the official date for the release of a new single called Praise Your Senses.

Here’s a video from the rehearsals:

The recording process was quite interesting. I recorded a drum groove ages ago at a friend’s studio in Athens. You know, just fooling around and experimenting in the studio. A couple of years later I started working properly on the song at John Robertson’s home studio and I just couldn’t reproduce the same drum sound; There was just something about the old pattern. Was it the sound? The drum kit? Not sure but the new recording didn’t sound that great. So the drumming of this ‘Praise Your Senses; version that you’ll listen to pretty soon is basically two drum kits recorded at two different studios with a two year difference between the recordings. I couldn’t just take the old version, as except from the main drum intro that I loved, the rest of the drum part was not working with the newer version of the song. So we decided to merge the two drum parts! LOL

Praise Your Senses Lyrics:

E-Mute Praise Your Senses Lyrics

The guitars and synthesisers we recorded at John’s home studio, the vocals I recorded in my living room, bass was recorded by Sigurdor in his home studio in Finland, the main drum groove was recorded at my friend’s studio in Athens and the rest of the drum kit at another studio the UK. Project? EU style. Skype communication services? Yes. Big part of the recording process!!

After we finished with all the parts the song was sent to Sigurdor for mixing and mastering. Sig was the one who re-mastered ‘Miracle’ too. If you (fellow musicians!) need to mix and master any tracks I encourage you to check out Sigurdor. He is a great person to work with, an awesome bass player and a “big ears” (not literally) sound engineer. Check him out at:

Praise Your Senses will be re-released as part of a new mini album that we are going to hopefully start recording with the band in January. Exciting times!

For Yourself A Rock Song About Social Issues

For Yourself is an alternative rock song about revolution. A revolution from within. In the developed part of the world shopping is King. We are daily bombarded with advertisements prompting us to buy, making us believe that we need all of these products where in reality what we actually need is to understand ourselves more.

The whole system in which we’re living in is nothing more than a way the “few” have devised to control and take advantage of “the many”. Control was always there. It is just taking different shapes and forms by adapting to the social trends and ideas of each period.

The Prehistory Of Our Social Issues:

If you were a fisherman and I was a shepherd you would provide some food for the community and I would bring some sheep wool and we would all take care of our women, children and elderly. On the other side, the hunter who was a cool dude and all the girls of the tribe fancied him, was a very strong guy physically and very full of himself. Step by step he started having this attitude of the style ” I am better than you lot” and decided to keep more for himself than to equally share with the rest of the tribe members.

With time he managed to become the richest man. He built for himself a great home and everyone called him “the chieftain”. He got even greedier and attacked with his group the neighbouring tribe and got even richer. This is a story that repeats over and over throughout human history. The chieftain became a King, then a conqueror, Emperor, President and in our times? CEO and … banker. I am not suggesting to have a society without a political infrastructure that would be simply impossible. I am just talking about human greed.

The world has seen many great leaders but there have been even more horrible ones. It seems that when people become an authority they need to have very strong characters to not become greedy. Power corrupts.

As we cannot avoid bad leadership and corruption within the system what we can do is to simply change ourselves. We are prisoners of our own society.

For Yourself Lyrics-Sacrilegious cause (1)

For Yourself Lyrics:

Sacrilegious cause but it seems that is going to define our course

Can’t be bothered to dream, everyday stuck in the same routine

Thought I was part of a new generation that was supposed to bring peace to deliver salvation

Kid’s belief but such a beautiful gesture

Stand up, stand for yourself, stand for us all, and stop obeying them all

What a fucking feeling how can we keep making the same mistakes,

centuries of pain just appear to repeat like the circle of fifths…

Thought I was part of a new generation that was supposed to bring peace to deliver salvation, kid’s belief but such a beautiful gesture

Stand up, stand for yourself, stand for us all and stop obeying them all.
